PR NEWS ANNOUNCES NEW EDITORIAL LEADERSHIP NEW YORK CITY, NY - NOV. 29, 2005 – PR News is excited to announce the addition of two new staff members to lead its editorial team. Phil Hall has been named Editor and Courtney Barnes, Associate Editor. “We really were lucky to find such qualified individuals to steer PR News in new directions,” said Diane Schwartz, vice president and group publisher of the Media/PR Group, which includes PR News, min, and min’s b2b. “I am confident that Phil and Courtney will be able to provide readers with thought-provoking stories and even greater access to the news and research that PR News offers its readers.” Hall brings more than 20 years of experience in journalism, business and communications. He most recently served as senior special projects editor at Red 7 Media, where he oversaw the creation of all editorial content for the online versions of Folio: Magazine, Event Marketer and Circulation Management. A Pulitzer Prize nominee, Hall has experience reporting for and editing financial, technology and retail trade magazines and has served in in-house and agency public relations positions. While an account manager at G.S. Schwartz & Co., Hall was on a team responsible for winning the agency’s 1993 Silver Anvil. Barnes, a graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, has worked for a range of publications in several key markets including Conde Nast Traveler, Washingtonian, min magazine and The New York Times. Before being named associate editor, Barnes was a reporter at PR News. The changes in editorial staff follow the recent departure of former editor Matthew Schwartz.
